They fire last too, and when the clusters spread hits the target, most of the armour is often stripped off already, so they crit everything. They are lightweight, generate so little heat, and can hit targets reliably from medium range all the way to extreme range. Why does almost every Mech have a pair of LB-X/2s?. And the Bull Shark MAZ had 2 ER M Lasers, 2 LB-X/2s, 2 UAC/2s, and 2 ER PPCs for and alpha strike of 509 damage-with 374 of that damage able to hit targets at extreme range (halfway across most maps). The Bull Shark M3 carried 4 LRM15s, 2 ER M Lasers, and 2 LB-X/2s. The Atlas sported two LB-X/5s, two LRM5s, one ER M Laser, an SPPC, and 400 more points of armour than the stock version. The AC/20s in the King Crab were upgraded to LB-X/2s the LRM15 was replaced with 4 LRM5s and the L Laser was replaced with two ER L Lasers it also had 500 more points of armour than a stock model. Lance for the final 5-Skull missions: Atlas, King Crab, Bull Shark-MAZ, and Bull Shark M3. The Heavy Metal bonus Mech was an Assassin. Starting Mechs: Enforcer, Vindicator, Spider, Commando 1B, and Urbanmech. The one MechWarrior skill that each and every MechWarrior in my company had: Bulwark Number of Atlas parts still needed before being able to field a proper Steiner Scout Lance: 12Ĭash balance on the last day of the career: 80 Million C-Bills. Number of days spent doing repairs or refits above a planet instead of doing missions: 1 (Day 1198 to 1199) Number of escort missions where the one of the APC drivers got drunk, passed out, and refused to move: 0 Number of missions where I had to withdraw: 0 Number of Missions Lost: 2 (An ambush Convoy on a lunar map were one vehicle escaped and an assassination mission where the target's escape zone spawned right on top of where it was, and since the target was a Master Tactician, it escaped the very next turn before I could even shoot it). MechWarriors KIA: 2 (both hit in the cockpit by AC/20 rounds) Ironman, Mech Destruction, Unequipped mechs, Enemy difficulty: Hard, Contract Payment: Generous, Salvage: Generous, Mech parts needed for a new Mech: 8. The loot crates at the end of each one are usually really good. You can get a lot of the same equipment by doing Flashpoint. The price for some complete Mechs on the Black Market was, however, well beyond my reach. The mark up on items was huge, but I was making so much money doing contracts against the pirates-for every other faction in the game-that I could afford to buy some of the better weapons and equipment that I occasionally saw on the black market. (They loathed me by about day 200.)Īnd I tried to avoid doubling back to visit the same planet more than once-although that was sometimes unavoidable due to flashpoint spawning where I had already been or my need to do a few contracts before month-end to avoid going bankrupt because I had just spent the company's nest egg on new Mech parts and weapons and then had to listen to Darius reminding me over and over again that "Our nest egg is almost gone." When I got this achievement, I didn't give a hoot if the Pirates liked me or not. There are so many missions against the Pirates that trying to stay on their good side could cost Career Score in the long run. If you try to do almost every contract on a planet and try to get to two planets per month, that will get you most of the way to a Legendary Score.īut I'm not sure if you can get a Legendary Score if you're skipping missions just to avoid fighting the Pirates and not tank your rep with them. No head capping cheese with a Marauder needed.
